The 2024 GMC Canyon is a midsize pickup that slots above the Chevrolet Colorado, offering a more premium take on the segment with upscale trims like the Denali. It competes with the Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma, and Jeep Gladiator, though it leans more toward comfort and refinement than hard-core off-roading. The Canyon drives with a composed, truck-like feel, and the steering is accurate enough for daily driving and light trail work. Inside, the cabin is well laid out with a large touchscreen and quality materials, though rear-seat space is tight for a crew cab. Stepping up to the AT4 from the Elevation adds four-wheel drive, an automatic-locking rear differential, and an off-road suspension with a factory two-inch lift and wider track.
