Miles Overview
The 2009 Sierra 1500 is GMC's full-size pickup, the one you cross-shop with the Silverado, F-150, and Ram 1500. It's a truck that rides like a truck, but the steering is direct and the brakes feel strong for a vehicle this size. The cabin is straightforward and built to work, with plenty of room in the crew cab and an easy-to-use dash layout. With a proper bed and strong towing ratings, this Sierra is ready for real work, and the tailgate is easy to operate. The Work Truck is the no-frills base model, so you get a vinyl floor and manual windows instead of the SLE's carpet and power accessories. Its 4.3L V6 makes 195 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, paired with a four-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, which is enough for light hauling but won't win any races.
