Miles Overview
The Tahoe is Chevy's full-size SUV, the one you cross-shop with the Ford Expedition and the GMC Yukon. It drives big but handles its size well, and the 4WD models are sure-footed in snow and on light trails. The cabin fits three rows of adults, and the rear seats fold flat to open up a big cargo area for hauling. It's a thirsty truck, so budget for frequent fill-ups, but owners say the drivetrain is dependable with routine maintenance. If you need traction in snow or mud, the four-wheel-drive Tahoe is the one to pick over the base rear-drive model. The 5.3L V8 and automatic transmission pull strongly enough to tow a boat or camper, though it returns 14 mpg combined.
