2015 GMC Acadia SLT-2

The Acadia is GMC's three-row family SUV, sized to carry up to seven or eight people depending on how you configure the seats. It drives smoothly and quietly for a big SUV, with a ride that soaks up bumps well, though you'll feel its size in tight spots. Inside, you get a roomy cabin with a walk-through to the third row, and the middle-row bucket seats make it easy to reach the back. Fold the third row down and there's plenty of room for bikes or luggage, and the split-folding seats let you mix passenger and cargo space. Stepping up to the SLT-2 adds leather seating, a heated steering wheel, and memory settings that the SLT-1 skips, plus more chrome trim outside. Its 3.6L V6 makes 281 horsepower through a six-speed automatic, and with all-wheel drive it feels planted on wet roads without a harsh ride. If you pick the SLT-2 over a Denali, you give up the unique grille and a slight power bump, but save thousands and still get the same seating for seven.
