Miles Overview
The 2009 Yukon is GMC's full-size SUV, the one you cross-shop with the Tahoe and Expedition when you need serious space and towing. It drives with the commanding ride height and smooth power you expect from a full-size SUV, and it feels stable and planted on the highway. The cabin is roomy for up to eight, and the third row folds or comes out to open up a big cargo area when you need it. Some owners note the dashboard can crack and the door handles are fragile, but the seats and controls hold up well over the years. The 6.2L V8 makes 403 horsepower and 417 lb-ft of torque, and the six-speed automatic shifts smoothly behind it, so the Denali pulls hard from a stop and cruises easily at highway speeds, though it returns 14 mpg combined. The Denali gets unique interior trim and a standard Bose audio system, which make the cabin feel noticeably nicer than the SLT's.
