Miles Overview
The Silverado 1500 is Chevrolet's full-size pickup, the one most people cross-shop with the Ford F-150 and Ram 1500. It rides like a proper truck, with a firm but settled feel that shrugs off rough roads and tows without drama. The cabin is straightforward and built to work, with controls you can use while wearing gloves and plenty of room in the crew cab. Overall reliability is solid, though some owners mention occasional transmission issues and rust on older examples. The Work Truck is the no-frills base trim, so you skip the LT's chrome and power options but save a good chunk of money. Under the hood is a 4.3L V6 with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, giving you solid traction for work sites and bad weather. Expect a vinyl floor and rubber mats instead of carpet, which makes hosing out the cab after a muddy day genuinely easy.
