2003 Chevrolet Silverado 1500HD LS

The Silverado 1500HD is Chevy's heavy-duty half-ton, built to tow and haul more than the standard 1500 while still riding like a pickup. It drives with the solid, planted feel of a truck that's ready for work, and the steering is direct enough for a full-size pickup. Inside, the cabin is simple and functional, with plenty of room for three adults on the bench seat and a straightforward layout. The 1500HD comes as a crew cab with a long bed, so you get real passenger space and a bed that swallows sheets of plywood flat. The LS is the base trim, so you skip leather and some convenience items, but you still get the same heavy-duty chassis and 6.0L V8. The 6.0L V8 makes 300 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, paired with a four-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, giving you confident pulling power for trailers and heavy loads. The LS trim rides on steel wheels and has a vinyl or cloth bench seat, so it's the most work-truck oriented of the 1500HD lineup.
