Miles Overview
The Colorado is Chevrolet's compact pickup, a smaller alternative to the full-size Silverado for buyers who want a truck without the bulk. It drives like a smaller truck: easy to maneuver around town, with a ride that's a bit firm when empty but settles down with weight in the bed. The cab is roomy enough for adults up front, but the rear jump seats are really only for kids or occasional use. Reliability is a mixed bag: the drivetrain can be solid, but electrical issues like window motors and brake light shorts are common complaints. The LT gives you the stronger 3.7L I5 and four-wheel drive, skipping the base LS's smaller engine and saving a few thousand dollars. Its 3.7L I5 makes 242 horsepower and pairs with a four-speed automatic, which feels torquey off the line but shifts slowly by modern standards. Expect 17 mpg combined with the four-wheel drive, which is typical for a mid-2000s compact pickup with this much power.
