1990 Chevrolet C/K 1500 Series

The C/K 1500 is Chevrolet's full-size half-ton pickup, the truck that defined American work and play in 1990. It drives like a proper truck: a soft, floaty ride over bumps and a steering wheel with plenty of play, but it's unstoppable on dirt roads. Inside, the cabin is basic and roomy, with a bench seat that fits three adults and a simple dashboard that's easy to use. You can get it as a regular cab, extended cab, or crew cab, and the bed swallows plywood and tools without complaint. This is the base C/K 1500, so you skip the upgraded interior and optional V8s of the higher trims, but you save money and still get a capable work truck. The 5.7L V8 and automatic transmission make this a strong hauler for its day, with enough low-end torque to pull a trailer or haul a full bed of gravel without struggling. You can order it with four-wheel drive, which turns this rear-wheel-drive truck into something that'll go through mud and snow as well as any Jeep of the era.
