Miles Overview
The Allante is Cadillac's two-seat roadster, built to take on the Mercedes SL and Lexus SC from a distinctly American angle. The ride is soft and absorbent, the kind that smooths out rough pavement without ever feeling floaty. The cabin is a comfortable place to spend a day, with leather seats and enough room for two people and their weekend bags. A Northstar V8 and a firmer suspension set the Allante apart from the softer-riding Eldorado and Seville, giving it genuine sports-car intent. Its 4.6L V8 makes 295 horsepower and 290 lb-ft of torque, routed through a four-speed automatic to the front wheels, and it'll do 0-60 in the mid-six-second range. The convertible top folds electrically, and with the optional hardtop you get a proper coupe silhouette for winter.
