The DTS is Cadillac's full-size front-drive sedan, the last of the big, old-school American luxury cars. It's a big car, so you'll feel its size in tight spots, but the ride is smooth and the cabin stays quiet at highway speeds. The interior is genuinely roomy, especially for rear passengers, and the seats are plush enough for long trips. Owners report solid dependability and few problems, though brakes may wear faster than you'd expect. The DTS came as the base sedan, the Luxury, and the top-end Platinum; this is the standard model, which gives you the same V8 and big back seat without the fancier trim. Its 6.0L V8 makes 275 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, sent to the front wheels through a four-speed automatic, and you'll feel the torque steer if you get aggressive with the throttle. The base trim skips the adaptive cruise and heated rear seats of the Luxury, but you still get the same quiet cabin and a trunk with 18.8 cubic feet of cargo space.
