Miles Overview
The 2006 Malibu is a straightforward family sedan, competing with the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry in the midsize class. It rides smoothly and quietly on the highway, with enough acceleration to merge confidently. The cabin offers plenty of legroom and an intuitive control layout, and the rear seats fold down to expand the trunk. Some owners report the steering column can lock up, and cloth seats stain easily, so keep an eye on both. The LT gives up the SS's sporty suspension and firmer ride, but keeps the same 3.5L V6 for a smoother, quieter daily driver at a lower price. Its 3.5L V6 pairs with an automatic transmission for relaxed highway cruising and enough torque to pull away from a stop without drama.
