Miles Overview
The 2001 Corvette is Chevrolet's flagship sports car, offered as a coupe or convertible with a choice of the standard model or the track-focused Z06. It's a serious performance machine, with the Z06 especially delivering razor-sharp handling and acceleration that pins you to the seat. The cabin is snug for a 2-seater, but the seats are comfortable even for taller drivers, and the interior plastics are typical of the era. Owners report the Corvette is generally reliable, with some noting minor electrical gremlins and window seal leaks over time. The convertible body style adds open-air driving to the Corvette experience, while the Z06 is a fixed-roof coupe with a stiffer suspension and more power. Its 5.7L V8 makes 350 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, routed through a four-speed automatic to the rear wheels, and it returns 19 mpg combined. The convertible's power top stows under a hard tonneau cover, so you get the coupe's trunk space even with the roof down.
