Miles Overview
This is the fifth-generation Corvette, the one that dropped the pop-up headlights and brought the C5 platform to the streets. The cabin is snug for a two-seater, and the interior materials are a bit dated, but the seats are comfortable for long drives. Some early C5s had electrical gremlins and finicky pop-up headlights, so it's worth having a thorough inspection before buying. The Base coupe is the purest way into a C5 Corvette, giving up the removable roof panel of the targa for a stiffer chassis and a lower price. The fixed-roof coupe is noticeably stiffer than the targa, which sharpens the handling but means you don't get the open-air experience.
