The 2025 Corvette is Chevrolet's mid-engine sports car, offered as a coupe or convertible and ranging from a daily-driver grand tourer to a track-focused exotic. It competes with the Porsche 911, Audi R8, and McLaren GT, though its price range undercuts most of them. The mid-engine layout gives it tenacious grip and sharp turn-in, while the steering feels direct and well-weighted. The ride is firm, especially in the higher-performance trims, but the magnetic ride control available on many versions smooths out rough pavement. The cabin is driver-focused with a large curved display, and the front trunk adds useful cargo space for a mid-engine car. The Stingray gives up the Z06's flat-plane-crank V8 and track-focused suspension, but it saves tens of thousands and still delivers genuine supercar performance. Its 6.2L I8 makes 490 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, routed through an eight-speed automatic to the rear wheels, and it'll hit 60 mph in the low three-second range. The Z51 Performance Package adds an electronic limited-slip differential, larger brakes, and a firmer suspension tune that sharpens track feel at the cost of a stiffer daily ride.
