Miles Overview
The 2018 Transit is Ford's full-size van, offered as a cargo van, passenger van, and chassis cab, with two roof heights and three wheelbases. It competes with the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ram ProMaster, and Nissan NV in the full-size van segment. The Transit drives more like a large SUV than a traditional van, with responsive steering and a surprisingly composed ride when empty. Cargo capacity is class-leading, and the low load floor and wide rear doors make loading and unloading straightforward. Available technology includes Ford's SYNC 3 infotainment with a touchscreen, plus a rearview camera and optional blind-spot monitoring. The Transit's diesel option is the 3.2L I5, which trades some horsepower for better low-end grunt and fuel economy compared to the gasoline V6 models.
