Miles Overview
The 2019 Transit is Ford's full-size work van, offered in cargo and passenger configurations with multiple roof heights and wheelbases. It competes with the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ram ProMaster, and Nissan NV in the commercial van segment. The Transit drives with a solid, planted feel for a large van, and the available all-wheel drive adds confidence in slippery conditions. Cargo space is vast, and the low load floor and wide rear doors make loading and unloading straightforward. Available tech includes Ford's Sync infotainment, a rearview camera, and driver aids like blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assist. The XLT is the mid-range trim, sitting above the base XL and adding convenience features like cruise control and a tilt wheel. This XLT has the optional 3.5L V6 with 310 horsepower and a automatic transmission, giving it strong passing power even when the van is loaded. The XLT can be ordered with all-wheel drive, which is a rare and welcome option for a full-size van in slippery conditions.
