Miles Overview
The Ranger is Ford's compact pickup, the one that slots under the F-150 and competes with the Toyota Tacoma and Chevy S-10. It's light and nimble, so it feels more like a car than a truck around town, and the four-wheel-drive versions handle snow well. The extended cab adds a pair of small jump seats and a little storage behind the front bench, which makes it more practical for errands. The bed is a good size for a small truck, and the short wheelbase makes it easy to park in tight city spots. A lower base price and fewer frills distinguish the XL from the plusher XLT, but you still get the same basic truck underneath. Its 3.0L V6 makes 152 horsepower and pairs with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic to move this truck around town easily.
