Miles Overview
The Ranger is Ford's compact pickup, a smaller and more maneuverable alternative to the full-size F-150. It's easy to toss around town and park in tight spots, though the ride can be a bit bouncy when the bed is empty. The cabin is basic but comfortable, and the extended cab adds handy space behind the front seats for gear. Owners praise the Ranger's dependability, with many reporting trouble-free miles even after years of use. A lower starting price and the standard 3.0L V6 distinguish the base XL from the more powerful Edge and XLT trims. The 3.0L V6 makes 154 horsepower and works with the five-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive, which keeps it simple and gets 18 mpg combined. The XL skips the Edge's sport-tuned suspension, so the ride is softer over bumps but less tied down in corners.
