Miles Overview
The 2009 Ford F-450 is Ford's heaviest-duty single-rear-wheel pickup, designed for serious towing and commercial use. It competes directly with the Ram 4500 and the Chevrolet Silverado 4500HD, though most buyers compare it to its own F-350 when payload is the priority. It drives like a truck built to work: the steering is heavy, the turning circle is large, and the ride is firm even when empty. The cab is spacious and functional, with materials chosen for durability over luxury and controls that are easy to use with work gloves on. The XL is the work-ready base trim, offering vinyl flooring and manual-locking front hubs that your crew won't need to baby. The 6.4L V8 cranks out 350 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque through a six-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, giving you steady pulling power from idle.
