Miles Overview
The F-350 Super Duty is Ford's heavy-duty pickup for 2000, built to tow and haul far more than the half-ton F-150. It squares off against the Chevrolet Silverado 2500/3500 and Dodge Ram 2500/3500, the other big players in the heavy-duty segment. Steering is slow and the ride is stiff when empty, but that's the trade for a truck that feels planted with a heavy load in the bed. The cabin is functional and roomy, with the XLT and Lariat trims adding more comfort features like power windows and a nicer stereo. The XL is the work-spec Super Duty, with vinyl floors and manual crank windows instead of the XLT's carpet and power glass. This XL pairs the 7.3L V8 with rear-wheel drive and a manual transmission, making 215 horsepower that's enough to pull a loaded trailer all day.
