Miles Overview
The 2001 F-150 is Ford's full-size pickup, the truck that anchors the lineup and handles everything from daily driving to serious hauling. It drives with a solid, planted feel, and the strong V8s give it plenty of muscle for towing and hauling without breaking a sweat. The cabin is roomy and comfortable, with a full back seat in SuperCab models that makes long trips or even sleeping on the road easy. Some owners mention brake and ABS light issues, and spark plugs can wear out sooner than expected, but these are manageable with regular upkeep. Leather upholstery and wood-grain trim set the Lariat apart from the XLT and XL trims, giving the cabin a more upscale feel. The 5.4L V8 makes 235 horsepower and 293 lb-ft of torque, and with four-wheel drive and a four-speed automatic, it pulls trailers and climbs grades without drama. The Lariat's standard captain's chairs and center console mean you get four seats instead of a bench, which trades a sixth seat for more comfort up front.
