Miles Overview
The F-450 is Ford's heavy-duty pickup, the one you step up to when you need serious towing and payload capacity. It drives with the commanding presence you expect from a heavy-duty truck, and the steering is surprisingly direct for something this size. Expect a firm, truck-like ride when unladen, which is the trade-off for the stability you get when you're loaded up. Inside, the cabin is roomy and functional, with straightforward controls and plenty of space for crew and gear. The XL is the work-spec F-450, skipping the Lariat's leather and tech for a lower starting price and a focus on pure capability. It pairs a 6.7L V8 with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, giving you the torque to pull heavy trailers without breaking a sweat. Expect a no-frills interior with vinyl floors and manual seats, which makes hosing out the cab after a muddy job easy.
