Miles Overview
The 2012 F-150 is Ford's full-size pickup, offered in regular, SuperCab, and SuperCrew body styles with a choice of 2WD or 4WD. It competes head-on with the Chevrolet Silverado, Ram 1500, and Toyota Tundra in the half-ton truck segment. The F-150 drives with a composed, truck-like feel, and the available EcoBoost provides ample torque for towing and hauling. The SuperCrew's rear seats are roomy enough for adults, and the folding rear seats add versatility for secure cargo storage. Heated and cooled leather seats, a Sony audio system, and unique chrome trim set the Platinum apart from the Lariat and FX4 trims below it. The 3.5L V6 makes 365 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, giving you strong passing power and a 11,300-pound max tow rating. The Platinum's standard tailgate step and integrated trailer brake controller make hooking up a trailer easier than on lesser F-150 trims.
