Miles Overview
The Transit is Ford's full-size van, the one that competes with the Mercedes Sprinter and Ram ProMaster for work and camper duty. It drives more like a truck than a car, with a firm ride and a high seating position that gives you a commanding view of the road. The cabin is basic but functional, with hard plastics and simple controls that are easy to use while wearing work gloves. You get a huge cargo area and a choice of roof heights, so you can stand up inside or fit bulky loads without breaking a sweat. The EL Medium Roof is the longest Transit you can get, with the Medium Roof height that fits under most parking garages while still letting you stand inside. Its 3.5L V6 makes 310 horsepower and sends power to all four wheels through an automatic transmission, so you get confident traction on wet pavement or gravel job sites. The extended length means you can carry 12-foot lumber flat on the floor with the rear doors closed, which is the whole point of picking this wheelbase.
