Miles Overview
The Excursion is Ford's biggest SUV, a three-row beast built on a heavy-duty truck frame that dwarfs most everything else on the road. It drives like a truck, which means a firm ride and some body motion, but the massive size gives you a commanding view and a sense of security. Inside, there's room for up to nine people, and the third-row seat can be removed to open up a huge cargo area. Owners love the interior space and towing ability, but they warn that parking it in tight spots takes practice. The XLT is the trim most buyers choose for its no-nonsense equipment list, skipping the Limited's leather and chrome for a lower starting price.
