Miles Overview
This Explorer is Ford's mid-size SUV, the one families cross-shop with the Chevy Traverse and Toyota Highlander. It drives with a smooth, planted feel, and the steering is light enough for easy parking but still tracks well on the highway. The cabin is roomy for seven, and with the third row folded there's generous cargo space for luggage and golf clubs. The available MyFord Touch touchscreen handles media and climate, though the Sync system can occasionally act up. Stepping up to the Limited adds leather seating, a power liftgate, and the MyFord Touch system with a larger screen. The 3.5L V6 makes 290 horsepower and pairs with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, returning 20 mpg combined.
