Miles Overview
The 2020 Escape is Ford's compact SUV, slotting between the EcoSport and Edge with a choice of front- or all-wheel drive. It competes with the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Nissan Rogue, offering a roomy cabin and available hybrid powertrains. The Escape drives with a composed, car-like feel, and the available turbo engines give it punchy acceleration for passing. Inside, the cabin is spacious for the class, with a modern infotainment system and plenty of cargo room for weekend gear. The factory power liftgate and heated front seats mark out the SEL from the base S and the mid-grade SE. The 1.5L I3 paired with the eight-speed automatic moves the SEL with adequate pace for daily driving and returns 27 mpg city / 33 mpg highway. Ford’s Selectable Drive Modes let you tailor the throttle and shift mapping between Normal, Sport, Eco, and Slippery settings.
