Miles Overview
The 2019 Ford Escape is a compact SUV that slots between the EcoSport and Edge, offering a choice of front- or all-wheel drive. It competes with the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Chevrolet Equinox in the crowded compact crossover segment. The Escape drives nimbly for an SUV, with responsive steering and a tight turning radius that makes it feel at home in the city. Inside, the cabin offers generous space for its size, with a large trunk and comfortable seats, though the center console storage is small. Standard tech includes Ford's Sync infotainment with voice control, and available features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A cloth interior, manual air conditioning, and steel wheels with plastic covers distinguish the S from the SE and SEL trims above it. Its 2.5L I4 makes 171 horsepower and uses a automatic transmission; with front-wheel drive it returns 24 mpg combined.
