Miles Overview
The Escape is Ford's compact SUV, a practical choice for city driving and weekend trips. It feels light on its feet around town, and the steering is responsive enough to make parking easy. The cabin offers plenty of storage, and the rear seats fold down to open up a generous cargo area. Some owners have noted electrical gremlins and a few safety recalls, so it's worth checking the service history. The four-cylinder engine and front-wheel drive set the XLT apart from the V6 and AWD versions above it, keeping the price down. The 2.5L I4 makes 171 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, which is smooth enough for daily driving and returns 23 mpg combined.
