Miles Overview
The Escape is Ford's compact SUV, a practical choice for city driving and weekend trips. It feels light on its feet around town, and the steering is responsive enough to make parking easy. The cabin offers plenty of storage, and the rear seats fold down to open up a generous cargo area. Some owners have noted electrical gremlins and a few safety recalls, so it's worth checking the service history. Front-wheel drive and a five-speed manual set the XLS apart from the pricier XLT and Limited trims. The 2.5L I4 makes 171 horsepower and pairs with the manual transmission, giving you direct control over the powerband.
