Miles Overview
The 2020 Explorer is Ford's three-row family SUV, the one you'll cross-shop with the Highlander and Pilot. It rides smoothly and stays quiet on the highway, and the steering feels light and easy around town. Inside, there's room for seven adults, and the rear seats fold flat to swallow bulky cargo. Some owners mention minor annoyances like a noisy steering wheel or a slow touchscreen, but major problems are rare. The ST is the performance pick of the Explorer lineup, sitting above the Limited with 400 horsepower and a sport-tuned suspension. The 3.0L V6 and ten-speed automatic deliver strong acceleration, and all-wheel drive keeps it planted in corners. It gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a B&O sound system as standard, plus a foot-activated liftgate.
