Miles Overview
The 2019 Ford Explorer is a midsize three-row SUV that squares off against the Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, and Chevrolet Traverse. The Explorer drives with a composed, planted feel, and the available V6s give it confident passing power. Inside, the Explorer offers seating for seven, but the third row is tight for adults and the lower trims have hard plastics. Cargo space is generous behind the second row, and the power-folding third row makes loading easier. Owners praise the Explorer's passenger and cargo room, the trio of engines, and the comfortable ride. The Police trim is Ford's pursuit-rated Explorer, sitting above the XLT and Limited in capability but below the Sport and Platinum in luxury. Its 3.7L V6 makes 304 horsepower and pairs with automatic transmission and all-wheel drive, giving it the urgency you'd expect from a law-enforcement vehicle.
