Miles Overview
The 2019 Transit is Ford's full-size work van, offered in cargo and passenger configurations with multiple roof heights and wheelbases. It competes with the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ram ProMaster, and Nissan NV in the commercial van segment. The Transit drives with a solid, planted feel for a large van, and the available all-wheel drive adds confidence in slippery conditions. Cargo space is vast, and the low load floor and wide rear doors make loading and unloading straightforward. Available tech includes Ford's Sync infotainment, a rearview camera, and driver aids like blind-spot monitoring and lane-keeping assist. The XL is the base work van, with a simpler interior and fewer standard features than the XLT, but it keeps the same cavernous cargo space and available roof heights. This XL has the 3.2L I5 diesel making 185 horsepower, paired with a automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, which gives it solid low-end torque for hauling but modest highway passing power.
