Miles Overview
The F-450 is Ford's heaviest-duty pickup, built for serious towing and hauling work. It drives with the commanding presence you'd expect from a truck this size, and the steering is surprisingly direct. The ride is firm when unloaded, but that's the trade-off for the payload and towing capability. Inside, the cabin is roomy and functional, with controls that are easy to use even with work gloves on. The F-450 is the Super Duty for buyers who max out a 3500's payload; it's rated to haul more than any other Ford pickup. Under the hood is a 7.3L V8 with an automatic transmission, and in this rear-wheel-drive setup it's a straightforward workhorse that pulls hard from low revs.
