2026 Ford Transit Chassis

The Transit Chassis is Ford's bare-bones workhorse, a cab-and-chassis truck meant for upfitters to build on. It drives like a commercial vehicle, with a firm ride and a high seating position that gives you a clear view of the road. The cabin is functional and durable, with hard plastics and simple controls that prioritize utility over comfort. With a hefty payload and towing capacity, the Transit Chassis is built to haul serious equipment, and the AWD option adds capability on rough job sites. This is the Transit Chassis as a cab-and-chassis truck, meaning you buy the rolling chassis and a shop builds the body to fit your job; it's the bare platform, unlike the cargo van. The 3.5L V6 sends power through an automatic transmission to all-wheel drive, which helps it claw up muddy construction sites even with a heavy load onboard. It comes with Ford Co-Pilot360 and the 12-inch SYNC 4 screen standard, but what you'll notice every day is the firm suspension that keeps payload capacity high and body lean low when loaded.
