Miles Overview
This is Ford's heavy-duty pickup, the one you step up to when a half-ton truck isn't enough for the job. If you're also looking at a Ram 2500 or a Silverado 2500HD, you're in the right class of truck. It rides like a truck built to haul and tow, with a firm feel that's the trade for how much it can carry. The cabin is straightforward and functional, with plenty of room for a crew and easy-to-use controls. The XL is the work-ready trim, skipping the chrome and convenience features of the XLT and Lariat to keep the focus on payload and towing. The 6.7L V8 makes 440 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, giving this truck the grunt to pull a gooseneck trailer without breaking a sweat. With four-wheel drive, this XL handles muddy job sites and snowy driveways better than the two-wheel-drive version, though the ride stays firm unloaded.
