Miles Overview
The 2016 Taurus is Ford's full-size sedan, a roomy four-door that competes with the Chevrolet Impala and Toyota Avalon. The Taurus feels substantial on the highway, with a confident, planted ride that makes long trips easy. Inside, the cabin is spacious with comfortable seats, though the rear windows are small and can feel confining. The SYNC system handles hands-free calling and voice commands, but the interface can feel dated compared to newer rivals. The SEL splits the difference between the base SE and the loaded Limited, adding convenience features like dual-zone climate control and power seats without the luxury price. With the optional 3.5L V6 making 288 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque, the SEL has enough grunt to merge onto freeways with confidence, and the six-speed automatic 21 mpg combined keeps fuel bills reasonable.
