Miles Overview
The ride is on the firm side, but the suspension feels tight and controlled on smooth roads. The interior is comfortable but full of hard plastic, and the back seat is tight for adults. Ford didn't offer a V6 Mustang convertible for 2001, so the GT is the cheapest way to drop the top and get the 4.6L V8. That 4.6L V8 makes 225 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque, and the standard five-speed automatic is the one most of these convertibles left the factory with. You'll see 16 mpg city and 23 mpg highway at the pump, and the convertible top stows under a hard boot that takes a minute to latch.
