Miles Overview
The 1989 Mustang is Ford's pony car, offered as a hatchback, convertible, or sedan, and it's the one people cross-shop with the Camaro and Firebird. The cabin is snug, especially in back, and the hatchback's cargo cover is handy, but the rear seat is tight for adults. Owners love the sharp looks, the easy-to-modify nature, and how cheap and simple it is to fix compared with newer cars. The GT swaps the base LX's four-cylinder for a 5.0L V8 and adds a sport-tuned suspension, bigger brakes, and the sharper looks that make it the one enthusiasts want. That 5.0L V8 makes 225 horsepower and pulls hard from low revs, and with rear-wheel drive it'll light up the tires as easily as it cruises the highway.
