Miles Overview
The Dakota is Ram's mid-size pickup, a smaller and more maneuverable alternative to the full-size Ram 1500. It drives with a truck-like feel that's honest and direct, and the steering is light enough for easy parking. The ride is on the firm side when unladen, but it settles down nicely with a load in the bed. Inside, the cabin is straightforward and functional, with controls that are easy to reach and understand. The Lone Star gives you the mid-level equipment without the Laramie's premium price, and it's available with either rear- or four-wheel drive. Its 4.7L I8 makes 210 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque, and the four-speed automatic shifts smoothly but won't win any races. With four-wheel drive, you get the traction to handle mud and snow, though the fuel economy settles at 15 mpg combined.
