Miles Overview
The Dakota is Ram's mid-size pickup, a smaller and more maneuverable alternative to the full-size Ram 1500. It drives with a truck-like feel that's honest and direct, and the steering is light enough for easy parking. The ride is on the firm side when unladen, but it settles down nicely with a load in the bed. Inside, the cabin is straightforward and functional, with controls that are easy to reach and understand. Chrome exterior trim and cloth upholstery mark the Lone Star as the value-oriented mid-grade trim, sitting between the base ST and the more luxurious Big Horn. The 3.7L I6 makes 210 horsepower and works with a four-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, giving you a capable truck that gets 15 mpg combined.
