Miles Overview
The 2008 Ram 1500 is Dodge's full-size pickup, the truck you'd cross-shop with a Ford F-150 or Chevy Silverado. It's a big truck that rides like one, but the steering is direct and the brakes feel strong for something this size. The cabin is roomy and straightforward, with a high seating position and controls that are easy to reach. Owners generally find the Ram 1500 dependable, though some report rust on older examples and the usual pickup-truck wear. The SLT is the volume trim, giving you a step up from the ST with more standard comfort features while skipping the Laramie's leather and luxury touches. This SLT packs the 5.7L V8 with 345 horsepower and a five-speed automatic, and the four-wheel drive gives you traction in snow or mud that a two-wheel-drive truck can't match.
