Miles Overview
The 2003 Ram 1500 is Dodge's full-size pickup, the one that brought big-rig styling to the half-ton class. Inside, the cabin is roomy and straightforward, with a high seating position and controls that are easy to reach. You get a real truck bed and a choice of regular, extended, or crew cab, so it fits a variety of jobs. A bare-bones work truck with vinyl floors and manual windows is what sets the ST apart from the plusher SLT and Laramie trims above it. A 4.7L V8 with 240 horsepower and 300 lb-ft of torque powers the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic, good for 15 mpg combined. The ST's coil-spring rear suspension gives a smoother unloaded ride than leaf springs, but expect a firm feel when the bed is empty.
