Miles Overview
This is Dodge's half-ton full-size pickup, the one that goes up against the Ford F-150 and Chevy Silverado 1500. The Ram 1500 rides on a proper ladder frame, so it feels tough and unshakable on rough roads, though the steering is a bit vague on center. Inside, the cabin is roomy and straightforward, with big controls and a bench seat that fits three across comfortably. You can get it as a regular cab, extended cab, or crew cab, and the bed is big enough for most weekend hauling jobs. Four-wheel drive and a few extra convenience items set the ST apart from the base SLT, but you give up the SLT's chrome trim and nicer cloth seats. Its 4.7L V8 pairs with the automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive, giving you enough grunt for daily driving and moderate towing without the thirst of the bigger V8.
