Miles Overview
The 2010 Dakota is a mid-size pickup that splits the difference between a compact like the Ford Ranger and a full-size Ram 1500. It drives like a proper truck, with a firm ride and a confident feel, though the rear end can get loose on gravel or slick roads when you're not loaded. The extended and crew-cab models give you four full-size doors with a back seat that actually fits adults. Owners say the Dakota is mechanically simple and holds up well over the long haul, but the bodywork and interior trim tend to wear faster than the drivetrain. The SXT trim adds chrome bumpers and body-color grille surround, which gives it a slightly dressier look than the base ST without going full TRX.
