Miles Overview
The 2016 Ram 1500 is a full-size half-ton pickup that squares off against the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, and Toyota Tundra. On the road, the Ram 1500 feels composed and stable, with steering that is accurate for a truck of its size. The available air suspension delivers a remarkably smooth ride, soaking up bumps that would jolt other pickups. Inside, the cabin is spacious and quiet, with available leather upholstery and a large touchscreen that make it feel more upscale than its price suggests. The Rebel is the off-road specialist of the 1500 lineup, with a lifted suspension, aggressive tires, and skid plates that set it apart from the Big Horn and Laramie. The standard 3.6L I6 pairs with automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, delivering enough torque for trail work while returning 19 mpg combined. The Rebel's unique grille and blacked-out trim give it a tougher look, and its off-road-tuned suspension means a stiffer ride on pavement than other 1500s.
