Miles Overview
The 2016 Ram 1500 is a full-size half-ton pickup that squares off against the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, and Toyota Tundra. On the road, the Ram 1500 feels composed and stable, with steering that is accurate for a truck of its size. The available air suspension delivers a remarkably smooth ride, soaking up bumps that would jolt other pickups. Inside, the cabin is spacious and quiet, with available leather upholstery and a large touchscreen that make it feel more upscale than its price suggests. A V8 engine and cloth seats set the SLT apart as the work-oriented trim below the Laramie, giving you capability without the luxury price. The 5.7L I8 paired with automatic transmission and four-wheel drive gives this truck the grunt to tow heavy trailers confidently, though fuel economy is a trade-off for that power. You can add the RamBox cargo management system on this trim, which gives you lockable storage built into the bed walls for tools and gear.
