Miles Overview
The 2016 Ram 1500 is a full-size half-ton pickup that squares off against the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, and Toyota Tundra. On the road, the Ram 1500 feels composed and stable, with steering that is accurate for a truck of its size. The available air suspension delivers a remarkably smooth ride, soaking up bumps that would jolt other pickups. Inside, the cabin is spacious and quiet, with available leather upholstery and a large touchscreen that make it feel more upscale than its price suggests. The SLT gives you chrome bumpers, a nicer grille, and standard cruise control over the base Tradesman, without jumping to the Big Horn's price. Under the hood is a 3.6L V6 paired to an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, which is enough for daily driving and light towing but won't match the Hemi's grunt for heavy loads.
