Miles Overview
The Durango is Dodge's three-row SUV, sized between the compact and full-size classes, and it competes with the Ford Explorer and Toyota Highlander. It drives with a solid, truck-like feel that some owners enjoy for its confidence, though it's not as car-like as some rivals. The cabin is roomy and comfortable, with three rows that seat seven, and the third row folds down to open up a large cargo area. Reliability is generally good, but a few owners have reported transmission issues and occasional electronic glitches. The Special Service is built for police and fleet duty, so it skips the Limited's leather and chrome in favor of heavy-duty components. It pairs a 5.7L V8 making 360 horsepower with all-wheel drive and a automatic transmission, giving it solid acceleration for a big SUV. Expect a firm ride and sparse interior trim, which is the trade-off for the added durability and 16 mpg combined fuel economy.
